WMP Dies after Vista Updates

On my new laptop with Vista Home Premium, WMP fails (locks up) after every
Vista update. I have had the computer for two weeks and have had to use
System Restore a dozen times to get WMP back for presentations. Even when I
disable the automatic updates, one got through anyhow and I had to use the
System Restore. Is there an answer (other than upgrading to Windows XP)?

Thanks for the effort, but the link does not match my problem. It happened
again today. Widows updated overnight (even though I have the update turned
OFF), and WMP would freeze - not in full screen mode.

Perhaps I should just upgrade to Windows XP.
