WMP has stopped working - a problem caused the program to stop working

correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is

available.

I've been up all night &

havent got a winks worth of sleep yet trying to figure out this problem -

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Some Vids WILL play on WMP (11) & Some wont, even of the same file

format.. There are nothing wrong with the particular vid clips because

i've played them in the past with WMP, These same vids that will not play

with wmp will also not play on VLC & thats what makes it very odd because

everything always plays with vlc... However the avi. MOV. etc clips that

will Not play with wmp & vlc WILL play on QuickTime player & it plays

fine..

The error message i get when i play with wmp is just this standard msg &

nothing more "Wmp has stopped working - a problem caused the program to

stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a

solution is available." Then I press close & the whole app closes...

When i try to play on vlc, i get the same sort of error msg.. "VLC can't

recognize the input's format:
The format of 'C:\xxxxxxxxxxxxx.MOV' cannot be detected. Have a look the

log for details." & no further details are there, There isn't a report for

vlc, however there is a problem report for wmp.. The details are below.

I dont know what importance this "Fault Module Name" is, but i've searched

my butt off & have not came up with anything more than seeing it mentioned

once here in a general irrelevant question.. I did delete the file

"keeping it in my trash bin" & tried to play the vid clips, then because

there was no difference as well as not knowing how important or what its

for, i Restored the file libmplayer.dll back to its original place..

So my problem is that wmp will not play some vid clips but it will play

others, regardless of the format.. However, i do believe (cuz i cant try

every video i have) that the ones that will not play are vids that i took

personally from a couple different camcorders/cameras, & there are a

couple different formats.. All of the "Movies" that i didn't record

myself, play just fine. I do not know when this problem started becuase i

dont play the vid clips real often, but i know its somewhat recent because

every so often, when i put pix/vids on my computer, i do play a couple to

make sure they have transfered ok. (this isnt a setting on the cameras

side because as i stated, its the same with different recording devices, &

the vids have played fine before)

Thanks for any help, I've been reading all day/night trying to fix this

problem & everytime i think i've found the solution, (someone recieving

the same error messages) i find out that they are recieving them in

different situations & such...

-- I understand this should tell what the problem might be, but even tho i

know my way around just about any computer, I dont understand how this

info is able to help my issue..
