WMP11 Error 8007F06B trying to install

I installed yesterday the ServicePack3 for Windows Xp and then tried to
install WindowsMediaPlayer 11 and it gave me the Error 8007F06B.

I also tried to install InternetExplorer8 but it didn't work because the
program asked me to install some updates but when I tried to do it it said me
that the update wasn't necessary.

What can I do? I've got the impression that the problem is with Windows
programs in general.

WMP11 gave you that error? Really?

In the file c:\windows\wmsetup.log , what lines contain "ERROR:" ? That
should likely indicate what the source of the error is.
