wmp11 works a few times then won't, end task fixes it but.....

I reboot the pc fresh and WMP11 works a few times then, when I go to click on
a stream or a local file nothing happens. I go to task manager to end the
wmplayer process, then all is well for a few more instances. This has been an
ongoing nuisance since day one. I run Vista Ultimate. plenty of hardware.
A related issue is my T-mobile Wing pocket pc phone also stops syncing until
I end the wmplayer process.

Can you do a System Restore to an earlier point before the problem started
happening? Have you installed the latest updates for Windows and your Pocket
PC device?

no can do on system restore it's been since january, the problem has always
existed. All latest updates for all. Hate to reinstall windows over this one
problem, but its' a problem.

You could try an in place upgrade which would save your files and settings.
