Since back when I upgraded to Vista, I've been using WMP exclusively. I never
had a single problem with it.
I bought a new Windows 7 machine the other day, and WMP 12 has been giving
me nothing but trouble since the first time I used it. All kinds of random
things happen every time I run it.
I sometimes get duplicate tracks appearing. Either at startup, or just at
random times while I'm playing through my music library. It just happened now
as I clicked play. I got a duplicate of every track in my library! See
enclosed screenshot:

I sometimes open WMP to find that I have no media library! From there either
2 things will happen. I can continue to have no library for the duration of
the program's execution, or WMP will start to slowly discover and build my
library back up from scratch, killing all my song ratings and play counts. I
have nothing complex going on here, I just rip all my purchased CDs to
Window's default Music folder.
I lose all my album art and have to re-download it for no reason.
The track length often gains or loses seconds on my duplicate tracks, making
me have to try and figure out which track is the correct one.
Many other minor issues like the above that I unfortunately can't remember
off the top of my head as I write this have also occured.
This happens whether I have hundreds of CDs, or just the double set I bought
the other day in my library.
I've been running WMP11 for years now, for hours every day, and never had a
single issue. Now I can't have WMP12 open for more than a few seconds without
something horrible happening.
