wmplayer at boot

Salut!

Over the last month or so I have found that once my boot is complete and I'm
at my Desktop, my HDD is still spinning like mad and both my Core Processors
are active in the 90 - 100% range for quite some time before settling down.

Opening up Processes shows wmplayer.exe active there in the 14,000 - 16,500
k range (noting I do not have WMP set to do anything at boot) and given the
HDD/Processor settles down once this process drops down, is this my problem
and how/can I resolve it?

Obviously, I've done a AV check (both internally and online), scanned for
malware and have an active firewall, so no apparent 'issues' there. What's up
with wmplayer.exe and why is it being such a drag on resources when not
active in the first place?

Thanks in advance.

Disable the "offline files" service in service manager, this worked fo
me. Apparently this and the Sync Mobile Devices routine are tie
together and not only launch wmplayer.exe at startup but cause explore
to grind to a halt. I'm back to normal after disabling this service
