Sometimes when I enjoy some type WMV file I see online and want to save it,
when I go to Temporary Internet Files, it's converted to a DAT file. In WIN
XP, it's in WMV so I can copy it to another folder if I want to keep it. Why
doesn't Vista display the same info in temporary internet files as XP does?

What's the URL? Did you try WMP's File:Save As menu option?

I didn't save the URLs as they were no use to me after the fact. I went to
your recommended site and found I have the latest updates and none of the
files indicated. Thanks!

OK, if you run into this again:
What URL causes this problem for you?
Did you try WMP's File:Save As menu option?

I tried "save as", but I'm not sure I understand your question as to "WMP's
save as". If/when I run into this again, I'll save the url and post it after
trying "save as".

Yes, I tried that, but it would only save as the url, not the actual file.
Hopefully I'll find one that I can post so you can look at it. Thanks.
