.wmv will not stream on wmp

Used to stream but not comes up with a save box which claims that the file is
corrupt or the wrong type (year right!).

This is a reliable sit which has chosen wmp as its media player. I have been
in touch with teh site and they say that the prob is definately with my
player and not with them.

any ideas?

What third party players were installed to this system?

Does going to the system's Default Programs control panel and using the Set
Program Access and Defaults tool to reassociate to the player help?
