ran microsoft update and now I receive an error message: a fatal exception
0D has occurred at 0000:0000FF00. The current application will be
terminated. Windows begins to load programs and than the above error msg
appears. I can't terminate the current application and if I reboot, same
thing happens. Anyone know how to correct this?

Thank you for your response, however I am unable to start the computer to the
point of going to the add and remove. Immediately after a start the computer
and it begins to run through the startup it goes to a blue "Windows" screen
with the below message. Any further idea on how to correct this?

Reboot your computer while holding down/or tapping the F8 Key.
At the Advanced Options Menu select Last Known Good Configuration.

Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to get into Task Manager.
Then start New task... control appwiz.cpl

While you're in Task Manager tell us if explorer.exe is running.
If it isn't you might try starting it too in case whatever took it down
was transient.

Good luck
