I select the burn list it prepares and marks for pending then it writes to
disc for the very first track only - then finalizes the disc - and give me
this error

Windows Media Player cannot burn the files to the CD. Verify that the disc
is clean and not damaged. If necessary, select a slower recording speed or
try a different brand of blank discs.

I have tried 2 different type of discs, different albums, a slower speed,
and updating WMP. I've did a reboot 2x. - I do not see a setting that would
cause this - what should I try next?

Windows XP SP 2 Windows Media Player Ver 11

Hello
I can't help you with your problem but SP 2 is old and outdated and you
should update to SP 3.

I am having the exact same problem, xp sp3 wmp11, finalizes after the firs
song. I have googled this and it seems to be a very common problem with n
solutions, I have wasted 5 cds so far, and the error messages give m
absolutel
no usefull information(slower speed/damaged disk/wrong brand), in shor
something went wrong with wmp.....

I need a fix, if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated

-J
