I've installed this update and rebooted several times, but this still appears
on my windows custom update search.

This problem was fixed after completely uninstalling and reinstalling
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 with the wpilauncher (which I did not have to use
on my original installation)

Yesterday,Tuesday-July 20th, I was trying to update my windows with Windows
Update,I tried running the programme, then I was asked to validate it thrugh
Genuine Windows Validation and it did not pass the validation. But now it
appears on my desktop and cannot be removed, and there is also a message that
says " You may be a victim of software counterfeiting. this copy of Windows
did ot pass genuine Windows validation." I want this thing completely
removed from my computer. What should I do? I need help.

What does this have to do with SQL Server 2008?

I suggest you try the Genuine Advantage forum, which is actively monitored by
Microsoft support staff:
