Everytime I try and sign into my windows live messenger it says:

Signing in to Windows Live Messenger failes because the service is
temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.

It does this everytime, what should I do?? I need it for schooling.

Greetings,

This could be some sort of authentication problem. Firstly, make sure your computer's clock
and date is set correctly. You can check this right-clicking on the clock on the taskbar and
choosing Adjust date/time.

Assuming that's correct, open up Internet Explorer (do not use another browser) and head over
to http://account.live.com and attempt to login there. If there's any problem logging in
there, please detail what exactly happens.

Hi Jonathan....I've got the same issue, same display except mine has a code
(c0020006) when i click on the show details link. This started happening
about 18 hrs ago after I signed off and then tried to sign back on. My clock
is correct and I can sign in at 'account.live.com" and my hotmail account is
accessible. I can get into the very old Messenger that was shipped with my
system and it shows my friends who are online. This version with issues is
14....and has been running fine for the past 3 wks or so.

No luck so far for me either. I've done everything I can think of in
addition to the suggestions from other sites and posts here. I'm thinkin'
I'm going to somehow have to coerce Jonathan to take the 20 min drive to my
place and fix this thing...Hmmm I wonder if he would like a case of beer? ;-)
I think I'm serious...hehe

OK...I'm back in business. It sure took a lot of screwing around but I
finally got vers 8.1 to download and run, and that's good enough for me right
now.
Try this link for Johnathan's blog site that lists some of the stuff I did
etc.

I've made sure my date and time are correct and i can access my emails or

the error thingy.. is there anything else we can do to fix it?
