The project is about 45 minutes long and it burned the disk fine and the disk
works but when i turned my computer on the next day and tried to import it to
windows movie maker again it said it was not a valid windows movie maker
project. It says the same thing when i tried to import it to windows DVD
maker. It has the right extension and everything but i don't understand what
happened to it that would not allow it to be opened.

If you haven't already done so, try copying the project from the DVD to a
temp folder on your hard drive and then see if you can import and do
whatever else you wish to do with the project.
