I am trying to rip two differentcd's, the media player insists they are the
same and copies one over the other. What do I do?

If you purchased the CDs or have them on their originally produced discs,
you shouldn't have a problem. If they were burned to CD from another device,
try changing the 'quality' settings under the rip menu to the highest
setting. They might be on low quality CD's that require a higher setting to
detect slight differences. It will take longer and take up more space though.

If they are the originals, I don't know. You might need to add an upgrade to
the player.

It is always better to have the original CDs and check to make sure they
aren't scratched. Even the slightest scratch can cause the player to not be
able to read it correctly and even a tiny spec of dust in the ROM tray can
cause the same type of problem, when you try to rip them. Even if they play
fine they won't necessarily load to the player.

If you can, always back up your CD's, new or not, to a high quality disc. It
will save you both time and space in the long run.

Before ripping the CD that WMP recognizes wrongly, right-click one of
the tracks and select Find Album Info. Search for the correct CD and
follow the instructions on-screen. That should give the CD the correct
information and prevent WMP from overwriting the other one.

If that doesn't help, you could also correct any wrong information
manually by right-clicking it and selecting Edit.

Regards
