Today I used automatic update feature form my windows program. After
downloading and installing the updates of course I was promted to restart my
computer which I did. The computer restarted, got the the point where Windows
XP professional appears on the screen then restarted again. Now it continualy
gets to this point and restarts. It has restarted more than ten times. Never
does it completly load the windows program. Also it does the same thing when
tring to start in any of the safe mode or from last good configuration. What
can I do?

I downloaded security updates last evening and my computer did the same
thing. After many restarts in Safe Mode I checked my Start Menu. The problem
was one of the updates loaded itself in my Start Menu and after unchecking it
and restarting my computer is working fine. I hope this helps. I was very
frustrated for a while.

I can not get to safe mode. Every time I try the computer gets to the point
of loading the safe mode program it stops and restarts again. If I could get
to safe mode I might be able to fix the problem.

I am running Windows 98SE. I must start pressing over and over again , very
quickly,!! the Ctrl tab right after the power check screen comes up and
Before the Windows splash screen comes up. If the splash screen comes up I
did not do this fast enough and my computer does not start in safe
mode. It is a real challange sometimes , I don't understand why this
happens. It will eventually give in for me and give me the menu with
"safe mode". I hope this helps.
