Won't sync outlook notes

I have set activesync to sync calendar, contacts, favourites and notes with
my ipaq. It is connected by usb and syncs the first 3 just fine, but when
it gets to notes it says -

"sync can't be started because you are not able to log onto the network and
access information."

If I click ok 'notes' is set to attention required, and if I 'resolve items'
it says to disconnect and reconnect and that it must be connected by USB or
serial or infrared...

All to local outlook, no exchange server at all. What is really odd is that
it appears to be a connection issue (from the messages) gut it is connecting
just fine to other parts of outlook...

This sounds like the same issue I've been having. Ive tried everything from
reinstalling outlook & activesync to using the scanpst.exe tool to repair
psts with no luck. I've even removed all the existing notes from both the PPC
& the PC

In my scenario, I get the same error message except I am syncing mail,
contacts, & calendar to my exchange server. Tasks, notes, files, & favs all
coming from outlook 2003 (which is connected to the exchanga mailbox) After
that initial "cannot log on" message, everything except the notes sync.

I would love to hear if you have any success resolving this one.

I tried several ideas suggested in a variety of other places including the
following (in no particular order):
-run scanPST on your personal folder
-unsinstall & resinstall activesync
-uninstall & reinstall outlook
-use the "detect & repair" function in outlook
-disable all outlook addins
-delete & recreate sync partnerships
-remove all notes from outlook
-remove all notes from WM5 device
-run fixmapi
-reboot PC
-reboot WM5 device
absolutly NONE of those suggestions worked. In the end, what worked for me
was this:
Using the outlook properties on the desktop icon (or mail in the control
panel) create a new profile and re-add any PST's you were using and reconfig
for exchange. After doing that, everything syncs like normal now. I know its
a kind of crappy solution but no one at MS has any better suggestions that
I've found.
