word 2007 demands that i save but wont let me

I have Office Home and Student version. just recently, as soon as I start to
work with a document, a "save as" window pops up. It will not let me save or
cancel. I cant exit out of windows. I have to use Task Manager to close the
program and then my info is lost. I called tech via phone but after being
put on hold multiple times, getting disconnected, etc, I had to give up.

Please help! I am a writer and really need this fixed.

Open Control Panel > Programs and Features > select Microsoft Office Home
and Student 2007 and click Change > select the 'Repair' option. If that does
not work, make sure you install the latest service pack for Office 2007.

Suggest you install OpenOffice.org - this will allow you to work until
you can solve the problem. OO will indeed import and export the MS office
2007 formats.

I don't know the solution to your problem, but let me point out that
you are asking in a Windows Vista newsgroup. If nobody here can help
you, you would probably be much more likely to get the answer you need
if you would repost your question in a Word newsgroup, since that's
where the Word experts hang out.
