Word 2007 Problem

I apologize for possibly posting in the wrong newsgroup, but I previously
posted this in two Word newsgroups without any responses. I'm hopeful that
someone with Vista and Office 2007 expertise might be able to help me here.

Vista Home Premium
Office 2007

Recently, whenever I open Word 2007, it opens up an old document instead of
a blank page. I have tried both the regular Word 2007 shortcut on my
Desktop, as well as the shortcut from Start > Programs. Is there a way to
reset or repair Word, or maybe rename or delete a Normal or Template file to
solve this problem?

Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Try where the Office gurus are more likely to hang out:

microsoft.public.office.misc

I still use Word 2003 but perhaps you have overwritten the normal.dot
template with your document. I believe you can rename normal.dot to say
normal.old, then close and reopen Word and come into a blank page. If this
works you could then delete normal.old.
