I can type in Word Perfect 11, but it will not let me save the file.
Any suggestions?

GEEZ. This is a Microsoft Vista group.

Word Perfect isn't even a Microsoft product.

You missed on every count.

I've tried that several times over the past few years. I can usually
get Writer to crash by opening one of several .DOC files I have that
were either produced with Word 2000, or that I've downloaded and that
work fine in Word 2000.

Most recent attempt to give it another whirl was only this past week
when I downloaded the latest version.

Permissions issue? If this problem is new to Vista, that's often the
cause. Try changing the 'saving to' folder to somewhere in your own
account area, by changing something in preferences?

If this is the wrong tree, try posting the error message here in
full.

Yeah, but you need an operating system to run WordPerfect on and
she's stuck with Microsoft Windows Vista. What good's an
operating system without any software to run on it?

My car has Goodyear tires. Do I contact Goodyear when I have a
problem with the carburetor?

Could you post the file along with a URL - I'd like to see that.

Google "open office". Download it. Choose to only install Writer. Or
install everything. Whatever.
