Somehow word pad is missing on my Vista Home Premium computer. I don't think
I deleted it because when I go to help and support and type in word pad I can
open it up, but I do have have it in Accessories, or when I go to search it
can't find it. Would really appreciate any help I can get. Thank you.

When you click the Start orb, type:
WORDPAD
Look at the top of that start menu window for the item "WordPad" and
Rightclick it, to click "Pin to Start menu"

Mark ty for your response, but I have done that and wordpad is not there its
a mystery because if I type wordpad into help and support it gives me an
option to open wordpad but I cannot find the file when I click on the start
orb and type wordpad

Rightclick your desktop, then New/Shortcut.
Put in this command:
%ProgramFiles%\Windows NT\Accessories\wordpad.exe
Drag the shortcut onto your start orb.

If no help, I would try the 'SFC /Scannow' command
Some Windows Vista functions may not work, or Windows Vista may stop

Again Mark ty,

Your first suggestion worked, I really appreciate it. Its been frustrating,
now I just have to figure out how to save a file in wordpad, because word
always comes up it seem like Microsoft Office takes over.

Go to start/control panel/'default programs', and click the link for
'associate a file type or protocol...'. Scroll way down to '.rtf ' "Rich
Text Format" and click the line to highlight it. Click the "Change Program"
button, and choose "Wordpad"
This will change the icon type for all rtf files, and make WordPad open them
by default.
