Do you lose sound when you start to load WoW? I have RC1 build 5600 and once
I start to load WoW I lose all sound. Even music won't play in itunes or
media player.

Oh also, my frames per second have gone way down. I have an ATI Radeon
x800XL 256 MB video card.

I'm playing WoW with an ATI x1600 in Vista RC1 5600 with no problems so far.

Surprisingly, after installing ATI's Vista RC1 drivers from their site, WoW
is one of the few games that run for me without any of that
graphical-corruption problem that showed up for a lot of people this weekend.

That and Star Wars Legos so far run ok but all my other games have that
black corruption on the bottom 1/3 of the screen.

So if I update the ATI drivers my frames per second should return to "normal"?

Not sure why you have bad framerate. I'm using ATI's latest drivers for
Windows Vista (can be found at ATI's website) and they work just fine for me.
Even improved framerate in the few games I've tried yet.

Too bad the ATI drivers for Vista misses the OpenGL drivers. (Or so I
believe, OpenGL games complains on Vista not running OpenGL 1.2*)

Hi guys -
I decided to install Vista to a new drive and slave out my original Windows
XP build to it. I was actually able to run WoW near perfect without even
reinstalling ... it just ran off the slaved drive WorldOfWarcraft directory.
Cool!

For the record, the framerate seemed a bit slower but the game played nearly
the same. I have not even checked nVidia to see if they have Vista drivers.

While Im not a WoW player, I too have seen odd seemingly DirectX graphics
corruption, but in Anarchy Online... odd sections of text in the chat window
fade in and out, and the client crashes in 32 bit graphics (even in windowed
mode) when you press the Windows key or TAB out....

Hopefuly this can be remedied for the gamers

I did update my drivers for my Creative Audigy and ATI Radeon cards. Only
beta drivers would work, but I now have a fully functional game again. Woot!

For more detailed information, I would direct WoW players to the technical
support forum for the game. There is a stickied thread there where a "blue"
is assisting with all Vista issues.

There are new Nvidia drivers on there site. Go to the site and do what you
normaly do to update your graphics drivers. There is a BETA version for
Vista, it seems logical to use a driver designed for vista...

Going to install wow in a bit, still installing and updating things as of now.
