would I need to upgrade my graphics card?

I am running build 5600 on my old computer to try it out, but when the final
version comes out I am going to buy it and install it on my new'ish
computer.

My new'ish computer has a NVIDIA 6600 GT graphics card.
I wondered if I would get the full Aero experience with it.
I do not play games so I do not need a powerful card, but if I need to
upgrade what NVIDIA card should I go for?

I have to replace mine. I am getting the Radeon 9550 (128MB) card to get
all the Vista whistles and bells working. Check the specs on the 9550 and
as long as yours will do the same you will be fine.

Will work just fine with Vista's bells and whistles - AERO Glass. Just as
long as your card has a minimum of 64 MBs video ram and is Direct X 9
capable. I am using a nVidia Geforce FX 5200 128 MB AGP and it works just
fine with AERO Glass, I don't get the Photo Album slide show effects when I
run it from the Pictures explorer. Your card will need to support Pixel
Shader 2.0 or 3.0.

Thanks for the replies.

It is good to hear that I do not need to upgrade my card as buying vista
ultimate is going to be expensive enough.

Thanks again.

The card should run great with Aero Glass and give you the full experience
with no problems at all.

Forgot to add: the required amount of RAM on the card
depends on the resolution (number of pixels) that you intend
to use. This may become important if you plan to use more
than one monitor or a moniotor with a very high resolution.

Anyway, speedwise and regarding the features it supports
(DX- and Pixel Shader-version), your card is fine and ready
for AeroGlass. Further information here:

I am presently using a NVIDIA 6600 (no GT) and get full Aero effects with
the stock drivers.

Why do you feel you need Ultimate. Get Home Premium and save money.

You can also run the Vista Upgrade Advisor to see what it says about your
video card...
