Wrong language showing up in Messenger

the main messenger window looks okay, as in, it's in english, but the ads in
the bottom are in Russian.

Pending requests - the link is in english, but the link it opens up is in
Russian.

Live spaces is all in Russian as well.

This has been tried on multiple computers, same result.

It has been tried logging into messenger with this account - but logged into
the computer under several different accounts (therefore different profiles
on the machine) and the result is the same.

It's been tried with IE 6 build 8.0178.00
It's also been tried with IE7 - both running windows xp pro.

going into IE (tools/options/languages) shows that English is the only
language listed.

Messenger has been "repaired" on one machine - but this does not appear to
be a local issue, it appears to be an issue with the profile at windowslive.

What I want to do is have everything in English, and this doesn't seem to be
addressed in any of the documentation I've seen.

How can this be resolved?

Greetings Michael,

What's going on is its grabbing the language preference based on the locale in your Windows
Live ID. This is why "local" things are appearing in the language of your choice but the
online services are not.

What you can do is change your locale to an English speaking country, like the United States,
Canada, UK, Australia, etc. here:
https://account.live.com/EditProf.aspx
