WSUS 3.0 Group Assignment via Group Policy

Currently I assign my computers to groups in wsus via the registry. I want
to assign them via group policy.

Do I need to remove the old registry information from the client first
(susclientid, target group........) ? Do I need to manual remove the clients
from wsus and let group policy reassign. Thank You.

No. the GPO will be force feed to the clients.
