Hi,
We have removed WSUS 3 and installed WSUS3 SP2 on the same server, Now we
are facing with a peculiar issue that the WSUS server console shows only 246
Machines, even if we add new machines on the domain it deletes any random
computer from the console and maintains the count of 246 only. Earlier we
had total nodes of 281. What could be the issue.

Regards
Darshan

Hmmm... currently being discussed in a thread only seven entries earlier.
:-)
(And about two or three a month for the past 54 months!)

The presence of a continually fixed number of machines in the WSUS Server
that is less than the actual number of machines configured in an environment
is a classic symptom of incorrectly cloned system images.

The remediation steps are documented in KB903962.

Hi,
There is no article by this number & secondly the new machines which are
installed are not by cloning or ghost, they are fresh installation but
still the WSUS console show 246 machines, if any new computer being added in
the domain comes up in the SUS console deleting one out it, maintaining the
count of 246.

darshan

My apologies. I mistyped -- the correct article is KB903262.

Really! Hmmm.... <pondering any other possible cause for this symptom>
