WSUS & Restart Later Button

Hello All

I am in the process of setting up a WSUS server which will update
approx 100 WinXP SP2 PCs.

I have got the actual update process all working, the only issues I am
having is to do with the "Restart later" button for non-admin users.

According to the docs, if is enable "Allow non-administrators to
receive update notification"

then non-admin users should get a balloon
notification next to the clock on the task bar and be able to restart
later when scheduled install has happened.

According to the windowsupdate.log file, it does say
"Will interact with non-admins (Non-admins are elevated)"

But after I get this message on the og file
"WARNING: AU found no suitable session to launch client in"

The update are scheduled to down load and install at a set time,
and admin users do get the notification and option to restart later.
Non-admin users don't

I am using a GPO to tell the client to update from our WSUS server.
Is there another setting which is undoing the notification for
non-admins

Can any one shed any light on this please?

Thanks

The log entry is consistent with the logged-on user not possessing
administrative privileges and the policy "Allow... to receive...
notifications" not being applied.

However, if the WindowsUpdate.log shows that the policy is applied, then the
next thing to check is the presence of the policy "Restrict all access to
Windows Update features" which may be applied on a /user/ level to non-admin
users.
