Installing WSUS today and I have a question about creating the GPO to
install updates on clients.
On page 20 of the
Step-by step Guide to getting started with MWSUS it indicates 4 different
Configure Automatice Updates options. The first 2 and the 4th indicated
that you need to be a local admin to install the updates on the PC. The 3rd
does not indicate this. So I guess I have 2 questions.
1. Does this also require that the user on the PC have admin rights to the
PC to install the updates?
2. If so is there a way to install updates on PCs without the person
logged on being a local admin?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

With AUOptions set to 4 ("Auto download and schedule the install"),
the updates will be installed even if the user is not a local admin.
Note that this configuration also will install the updates even if
no one is logged in (and automatically reboot if the update process
needs a reboot to finish).

And a FYI:
