WSUS Database rollback

Hi all. I was carrying out a small operation (or so I thought!) of
removing a machine from one of the groups because it is no longer part
of the network, when the website seemed to crash; The "Ok" button was
stuck pressed in and I could not do anything. I left it like that for a
while thinking there was probably just a server lag to read an email or
two, but 5 minutes later it was still the same. I ended the IE process
and relogged in to the site, to see that the main page was stuck on
refreshing and then a few minutes later gave me the error "Error
connecting to the Windows Server Update Services database". I then
proceeded to restart the SQL service MSSQL$WSUS, which also caused
AgentSQL$WSUS to restart as well. Thereafter, I refreshed my browser
and the site seemed to be alright. But then as I was going through the
computer listing I noticed that it was showing less machines. Infact,
the figurers in the groups were very similar, or even same as to what
it looked like before I added a second network card to the server so
that it could detect workstations on another IP network of the same
windows domain.

I would like to know if this crash has compromised WSUS's ability to
redetect the machines that have been "lost", and/or what steps I could
take to bring the listing up-to-date.

Thanks in advance, Pasan

Perhaps try the WSUS Newsgroup

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...pdate_services
(OE client)
or
http://www.microsoft.com/communities...pdate_services
(web client)
