WSUS installation problem with Cumulative Security Update for Outl

Cumulative Security Update for Outlook Express (823353)

Hi

I updated all my clients with WSUS and today they seemed to install
everything but to my horror the clients seem to have a problem and the wsus
server does not report anything.

When I check c:\windows\windowsupdate.log I see that it is going to
reinstall the patch for the outlook explress thingy even though it already
installed without an error.

WSUS does not show this. But also MBSA shows it as missing.

How can it be solved, so that all clients get rid of this thing?

Hi,

If you have the security update KB897715 (MS05-030) installed on
the computers, it could be caused by that.

Temporarily uninstall KB897715 (from Add/Remove Programs), and see if
KB823353 (MS04-018) installs successfully. Then install KB897715 again.
