Hi,

Our department is currently in the process of upgrading from SUS to WSUS, I
have setup WSUS on a newly installed windows 2003 server, and had it collect
all updates. The WSUS server seems to be up and running correctly and can be
accessed on the correct URL (http://chromosome/WSUSAdmin). The server is
setup to download all updates locally, and has sufficient disk space for
this. The server is the only WSUS server we have so gets updates directly
from Microsoft, and distributes directly to the clients.

Our client machines previously had SUS installed on them using a custom
writen app that set the apropreate registry keys under HKLM\software
\policies\microsoft\windowsupdate , and re-started the update service). This
worked fine.

I have changed this app so that it now points client workstations at the new
WSUS server, and run it on a few of our worstations for testing. These
workstatiosn seem to connect to the WSUS server and download updates as
neeeded.

However when I look at the All Computers group on the WSUS server, it only
ever displays details about 2 machines, and oddly enough not always the same
two. This of course makes managing machine groups etc fairly difficult

Does anyone have any clue what might be at fault here, or what I can do to
remedy this.

Feel free to (politely) point me in the direction of relevant documentation,
or request further information etc.

Thanks.

Phill.
