WSUS reports machines have outstanding updates, but machine do not

Hi When I approve updates the majority appear as avaialble on the target
computers, however some machines in wsus console are listed as having for
example 35 updates that still need to be installed. If i go to the client
computer they dont have any updates to install. I have tried wuauclt.exe
/detectnow etc.. but still no updates, tried gpupdate /force too. I have
removed the computers from the wsus console and let them re appear and they
still have the updates outstanding. Any ideas on how to rectify this ? Some
have outstanding 1 some have many
The updates are working its just that about 60% have some that dont appear
on the client. Please help me !!

The first step is to verify the client *is* communicating with the WSUS
Server.

Please run the Client Diagnostic Tool on one of these client systems and
post the results for analysis.
