WSUS requiring elevated rights to install updates

Hello this is my environment:
Windows 2003 Server – SP2
Clients Windows XP Pro SP2 (150 Clients)
Computer Updates: Between 3 to 30 updates needed – various stages.
Most of my clients are being updated without any issues (70 percent).
However, my clients are not local admins or power users to their machines –
security issues-. So, if they logon to their machines they are not receiving
the updated balloon logo display that informs them that they have some
pending updates. I checked on the server and it displays that 45 computers
have pending updates. If I logon to each machine with my admin account I
received the updated popup and it begins the update process immediately. I
canceled the popup… logoff the local computer. I used my normal account (no
super admin powers here…). No popup even after I issued the wuauclt
/resetauthorization /detectnow command. It ignores the fact that we have some
pending updates from the server.
It seems that the updates only works if I am a local administrator to the
computer. I am looking for a solution to this issue. I can’t elevate the
users to a power user just to receive the windows updates. I don’t have the
time nor the resources to physically update these systems one by one (some of
these systems are in remote areas – only 5 systems). Please, help me with
this issue.
