WSUS-Update of KB896424 fails on XP SP2!

Hello
Please I need help. I'm in trouble with the new updates. My clients are not
able to install the Security Update for Windows XP (KB896424) deployed with
WSUS. Error Log shows error 0x8007f0da.
Does someone have the same problem and who can help?

I have the same problem. After installing KB896424 I cannot boot my HP
Pavilion (XP SP2) desktop computer. It fails with a c000021a Fatal System
Error showing 0xc000026c.

I manually removed the patch using the recovery console and the system boots
cleanly now.

Obviously I need the patch but I cannot install it. What could be causing
this problem? Do I need a BIOS update or something?

Any advice would be most welcome!
