WSUS Updates need to be removed from clients

After running a cleanup on my WSUS server, it reset all of the pending
updates to "approved". Unfortunately, it installed IE 7 and XP SP3 on some
machines. These updates/upgrades cause issues with some critical software we
use on campus (i.e. Banner suite).

Is there any automated way to remove these updates from the client machines,
or does each machine need to be touched and have Add/Remove Programs run on
them?

The WSUS server is at version 3.1.6001.65

Thanks in advance for any feedback

Right pew, wrong church. Forwarded to WSUS newsgroup
(microsoft.public.windows.server.update_services) via crosspost as a
convenience to OP.

Andy,

Suggest you post this issue to the WSUS newsgroup since this NG deals
with Windows Updates, not WSUS:
