WSUS - XPclient is not contacting update services

I'm deploying WSUS on a local network with Windows XP SP2 clients through
Group Policies (Active directory).
One of the XP clients cannot contact the update service even when manually
trying to contact the MS update Internet site (I get error 0x800A01AE)

Here are some log entries from the client. The entries repeat every time
with "AU received event of type: 3"

I guess ther is something wrong with the local automatic update agent. I do
not know how to uninstall and reinstall it properly.

Does anyone know how to proceed with this problem?

I am sorry you are running into this issue. The error you report can occur
after a control self update that has not fully completed and requires a reboot.
I have no doubt that you have already tried rebooting, but this question is
better directed to the following newsgroup. They have more experience with WSUS
and you will obtain a much faster answer to your questions.
