WTF is vista doing?

Okay so this happens rather frequently at lest 2 to 3 times a week bu
while just normally using my computer the screen will suddenly withou
warning go black but the music (I'm usually listening to music when o
my computer) will keep going as well as everything else. But then abou
ten seconds later everything will stop only my computer will stay on.
If anyone has any help please let me know this is driving me nuts whe
it happens. Also it will happen when the computer is just turned on o
when its been on for awhile

Hi,

The music you are listening to, is it music files on the pc or a CD running
in the drive? If it's the latter, you likely have a direct cable from the
drive to the sound card so that music plays without involving the rest of
the system. The problem you are seeing, freezing without a stop error, is
more than likely related to faulty hardware. If you are actually playing
music files on the system when everything becomes non-responsive, you may
want to check the system for malware. One of the files my have a hitchhiker
that is executing when the file is loaded into a player.

is the music from an original cd ??
sometimes cd's have multimedia tracks on them and been vista they wont
install properly if not run as an administrator and so causes all kinds of
problems

no the music is running off of my hard drive. I also dont have to b
playing music for it to happen. It was just an indicator that told m
the processor was still running after my screen went blank which then i
shuts off a few seconds later

have you run virus software and adaware software just to check for virus and
spyware?
