WU dosen't work!!!

i just installed WINXP PRO on my PC, and want to update my windows, but i'm
keep getting 0x80244010 Error,
what can i do to fix it?

first of all, my reply won't help, but maybe we can isolate the problem.
It is possible, that you had done many xp installation with this serial
nummer and online registration was not possible?
I had the same problem and had to call the windows support.
Could it be the the problem, that MS blocked the update of versions, which
are used many times?
The MS server could not be the problem, because at the same time my other
computers works fine with the MS update.

I don't think that this is another Microsoft strategy against piracy, because
if this error had something to do with an illegal product-key Microsoft would
post a message like "this product-key is not vaild" (the same way they built
in such a "tool" in SP1)!

As I am getting this error message after installing a copy of winxp home sp1
(baught the day before yesterday, i. e. absolutely legally and paid, but
without entering a product key as this is an oem-version), I can only imagine
that this is a server problem...

But you never know when using Microsoft products...
