Hi all:

I've been scouring the Internet for an answer for this. Other computers
behind the DC/DNS/Exch server are able to get WU to work, but not the DC.
I've made sure the URLs for WU are in the Trusted Sites, I've stopped
Automatic Updates, renamed Software Distribution, restarted AU, added/deleted
the IP of WU into the local Hosts file, am able to download the .cab from the
WU site, and STILL get this wacky error. I'm out of ideas...I am about to
download/install SP2 to see if that fixes it. It looks like this DC has not
been updated in awhile (SP1 installed). No proxy to worry about, no firewall
to disable, no Norton 2003. Will post WU.log if someone wants to see (just
ask for it). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think the thing that would help most would be a trace of the HTTP
packet flow. E.g., inserting FiddlerTool into the path might be sufficient
to help you see what is wrong. However, it might also be a DNS problem
in which case you would need a lower level of tracing such as that provided
by using netcap + Ethereal.

Good luck
