Hi all

I have two w2k Servers runing for some time without any problem. Two
weeks ago I did the update to the update service version 5 and since then they
have not work.

I got the message:

Please change your Internet Explorer security settings
To save changes to your settings for this website, you need to enable
userdata persistence for Internet Explorer. Complete the steps below, and
then click Change settings to the left and try saving your changes
again.......

It is regarding the "persistent data" I, of course, checked the
configuration and made sure it was correct on both servers, it was since the
begining, but
the problem persist.

Meanwhile the Windows Autoupdate icon keep showing up on the systray,
saying that I have a new update, but if I try to click on it the icon just
disappears, than it comes back a few seconds later.

Any Idea how to resolve this anoing problem ?

Here is the log that the misteriously disappearing WU creates:

Hi,

I had exactly the same problem and fixed it following a reply to a similar
question, basically I found that the account with the problem was a member of
the group Guest, why I have no clue as I did not set it up this way, but
that's another issue. Anyway, I removed the membership of this group and WU
works fine now just as before. Seems like additional security has been added
to WU, nice of them to slip it in like this.

I hope this solves you problem, good luck.

Robert
