WU fails when using proxy Trend Micro ISVW

Hi

When i use Trend Micro's proxy and web filter ISVW windows update fails with
the error code 0x80240030.

I have enabled http 1.1 over proxy, i have whitelisted *.microsoft.com and
*.windowsupdate.com. What else should I do?

When searching for available updates on the Update site, you receive the 0x80240030
error.

well, i have already tried that. I think this problem resides with the Trend
Micro proxy, as it works fine without the proxy. But I cant get TM interscan
web security suite to excempt these sites properly (even though i have
entered them in the exclusion list).

I have narrowed it down to this: tm's http-filter cannot handle Microsoft's
"windows genuine advantage" component in IE 6. Once i manually upgrade the
client IE from version 6 to version 7 (and thereby validate my windows copy)
it slides through without any problems.

So this error is a combination error between Trend Micro InterScan Web
Secutity Suite and Microsoft Windows Genuine Advantage active-x component.
