No dice, and no surprise, given that the code that launches the update
attempt is itslef an ActiveX control.
Fortunately, there are some users who seem to have the time to fend for
themselves on this, given how little MS seems to care about solving it.
Maybe one of them will come up with a solution that doesn't reqiure having
another machine on which the problem doesn't occur.
Hopefully some other MVP, who is willing to do something other than blame
the users, will find a solution that's actually workable.
