Did you configure auto-update to only notify you that there
are updates, or to automatically download the update? There
are several options. If you are dialup, the computer must
be able to connect for update to work [computer ON, and
dialup connection established] Broadband users must have
the computer ON and their connection available.
The line waiting is long, WU gets you in line and schedules
when you will get your download, if you are off line at that
time, you'll have to start over again in line.
