Hello Arthur,
How far do you get there ( at W U website)? eg, at which point does the
process seem to "lock up"?
At the initial screen? When refereshing controls or checking for controls?
During the "scan" for updates?
Do look at your Windows Update log file, and "only" get the set of entries
for the "last" date / or last session at Windows Update (or Automatic
Updates).
Use Notepad or Wordpad and take a look at (usually C:\WINNT or
\Windows )
%windir%\WindowsUpdate.log
Scan down to the bottom. Review contents.
You need to look for entries marked "Error" such as 0x......... (where
........ are numbers)
See KB 902093 How to read the Windowsupdate.log file
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902093
Also, specify your Windows version ( & service pack) & the Internet Explorer
browser version.
