WU v5 error 8024401B

V4 was fine with working in a Netowork enviroment with authentication proxy
but it looks like V5 isn't.. Can anyone tell me if this will be fixed in the
future. i can tell you the machines works great at home on a direct
connection, but when i bring it back to work, i get the above error.. I have
also tried "Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections" but still ain't working..

Hi Dennis

I've got the same problem. MS are trying to resolve it at the moment.
It is not an SP2 problem in truth, but a V5 Windows Update problem.

One of the PCs running XP Pro SP1 descided to automatically install
the V5 Windows Update Updates yesterday and now it cannot download any
of the other Windows updates due to the Proxy Credentials requirement,
and I do not use a proxy server on my network.

Also you cannot uninstall the V5 updates or use restore!

I'll let you know what MS come up with.

SUS_E_PT_HTTP_STATUS_PROXY_AUTH_REQ
Http status 407 - proxy authentication required
