WU: "why bother?"

A close friend of mine gave up patching through WU
(warning:
this a very unwise idea, patching is necessary)
after he read the report from secunia:
http://secunia.com/product/11/#advisories

Secunia has issued 69 warnings for IE since 2003.

1/3 (one third) remain unpatched today....

I'm just stating facts from secunia, not evaluating the risk of
those unpatched "issues" (most are low-risk)

Read it all on
http://secunia.com/product/11/

I like the way you put "issues" in quotes!
(someone who actually 'gets it')

I've been trying for the past 5 years to get people
to stop using touchy-feely euphemisms for everything.

Things that give you a hard time in life are NOT "issues" --

They are PROBLEMS...

Indeed, "issues" are real problems,
for real people with real computers
that contain really important parts of their life.

I also resent the fact being told I have an "issue"
when an update wrecks havoc om my machine.
I backed-up and really, "trust no one" can be a live saver.

Anyway, there are all those unpatched "issues" remaining,
as reported for years by secunia....
