Hope someone can help me out here.. I started to get this error when I shut
down/restart the system of my two machines (both are WIN XP SP2)

"wuauclt.exe - Application error

The instruction at "0x370013e8" referenced memory at "0x7c801d77". The
memory could not be "written".

Click Ok to Terminate the Program."

I am not sure whether this is related to Windows Update program (wuauclt.exe
seems to be an application for Windows update) or it is related to a game
(Maplestory/GameGuard) recently installed on both machines Or a conflict
among the two. After the macine is re-started, if the Maplestory game is
not played, it can be shut down/re-boot normally. Any idea what might went
wrong here.

I have done a complete virus check with McAfee and also all spyware check
and machines came out clean. I also removed and re-installed Maplestory but
problem is still there.

Thanks
Allen

Is McAfee Virusscan from your ISP installed ?
Just checked out this 'Maplestory' site and to say that it may not be a
safe site may also be an understatement.
If Maplestory/GameGuard is not played then the error does not occur,
correct ?
The site's links to Privacy Policy and Terms of Service do not function.
That's usually the first sign that the site is NOT to be trusted.
If it were my system I'd uninstall their 'software' ASAP.
