Are you referring to Windows Update Agent 3.0 (v7.0.6000.374;
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932494)?
Is "Update for Windows XP (KB927891)" listed in Add/Remove Programs (make
sure Show Updates is checked)?
When was the last time Windows Update worked?
Is Windows Defender installed and are its definitions current? [Just asking,
not a recommendation or suggestion to install it.]

Have you run the Norton Removal Tool?
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...05033108162039
What anti-virus application are you using now? Is your subscription current
and are its definitions updated daily & automatically? Can you manually
update definitions successfully?
