wupdmgr doesn't start / Download from Webpage doesn't work

Here are 3 w2k Servers:

On two of them the Link from the startmenu does not work and when i
connect to the webpage via IE i can select updates.

But when the Download should start only the Window "Windows Update --
Web Page Dialog" is displayed. Nothing happens.

I have tried re-registering some dlls as mentioned in some postings, but
that did not work for me.

Any hints?

I started the download at 17:39 and closed the window at 17:50

Having one system which works and another which doesn't
is a tremendous diagnostic asset. It means that you can compare
details about them without really having to know what those details
mean. This is especially true when it comes to traces.

What I would do is use FileMon filtering on wupdmgr on both systems
and then see where the two traces differ significantly. Unfortunately
the traces will contain details such as timestamp information etc.
which will make them non-comparable using tools such as fc or
windiff but you may be surprised how easy it is to notice differences
just with an "eyeball" comparison.
