Wups Removal doesnt work! HELP!

I get that 0x8007041D error. So I tryed the Wups.dll removal, but it didnt
work.

Ive just recently reinstalled XP in hope that my audio would work again on
my old Compaq computer. Doesnt work. I even tryed the website for the
drivers, and they didnt work either! So now the Windows Update wont install,
when I try to download this I get the 0x8007041D error. I tryed removing
Wups, no help. And I dont have NOD32.

Please help me.

First, verify that the "COM+ Event System" service is not disabled or not
functioning:

Press Start and Run, and then run this command:
services.msc

Locate the "COM+ Event System" entry, and double click on it. Startup type
should be set to "Manual", and if the service is not already running, press the
Start button to see if it starts successfully.

If the steps above where ok, see if the steps in this previous post fixes the
problem (applies to WinXP as well):

I would find the original CD that came with your motherboard. Find the
audio driver from it. Install it.
Since you have a Compaq machine. Go to Compaq websiye and find the
driver there.
