WUS Synchronization Problems

I've recently noticed that my WUS server synchronizatio appears to have been
failing. On further investigation (through Event Viewer), I've noptioced that
the last success was on 11th May. All synchronizations since this date have
failed.
I was away on hols on 11th May so changes to the server would have been
unlikely.
I can confirm that my Synchronization options page is set to use Microsoft
Update and that Microsoft update is contactable (and runs) on the server
itself.
The details of the error I'm getting are:

Windows Updates Services encountered an error.
The upstream Windows Updates Services server was not found. Please check
your update source settings on the Synchronization Options page.
WebException: The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found.

Has anybosy else had these problems?
Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to rectify please?
I'd appreciate any advice.
Many thanks

Perhaps try the WSUS Newsgroup

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...pdate_services
(OE client)
or
http://www.microsoft.com/communities...pdate_services
(web client)

We are having the same problem and I cannot find any information or help.
However, this is has happened since I installed WSUS. Along with the error
you posted below we are getting an Event ID 386.

Can someone please shed some light on this problem?

Thanks,
Bret
